This Charity was founded in 1952 in order to prevent and relieve cruelty to animals and to protect them from unnecessary suffering. The Centre has grown significantly over the years and the Trustees approached the Charity with a view to exploring whether there were any specific projects of a Capital nature that would assist them in developing further.
A number of Projects were presented to the Trustees and a Grant of £10,000 was provided to assist in the building of the Equine Barn where currently it cares for 15 + horses and ponies. This is in keeping with Keith Baker’s interest in animal welfare and supports the local community in the Sussex area.

The Keith Baker Charitable Trust has made a grant of £140,000 to The National Children’s Charity Dream Makers allowing them to purchase a property in Eastbourne close to the sea front. As you would expect from one of the South Coast’s leading tourist’s location, this home is close to many recreation areas.
Dream Makers will use this property to provide holidays for UK families with children or young people, many of whom have a serious or terminal illness or are coping with lifetime disabilities.
Dream Makers are now commencing a refurbishment programme of the property which will include adapting the building to cater for the needs of those that will make use of this facility.
The Trustees are delighted to be involved in this major project which has the potential to help many who will benefit from this facility whilst creating a permanent memorial to the name of Keith Baker.
